Chapter 361 Burning Blood
Chapter 361 Burning Blood
"boom--"
With a resounding explosion, as if the heavens and earth were collapsing, the black mist collided with the golden barrier before our army, sending a wave of light soaring into the sky. The powerful impact knocked me back a few steps, and my blood surged through my chest.
"Kill--"
Amidst the deafening cries of killing, countless dark shadows descended from the sky, surging towards our defenses like a tide. I looked closely and saw that the shadows came in all shapes and sizes: hideous monsters, skeletal soldiers wielding blades, and a terrifyingly sinister aura emanated from them.
"Mage, attack!"
Following my command, five-colored magical light illuminated the entire battlefield. Fireballs, icicles, and lightning rained down on the enemy formation, tearing the dark shadows into pieces. However, the enemy was too numerous and quickly filled the gaps, rushing forward one after another.
"Meng Meng, be careful!"
I turned around and saw a giant wolf-like monster lunging at me with its bloody mouth agape. Before I could react, Youcai had already swung his sword in front of me, and with a clang, sparks flew everywhere.
"Beast, your opponent is me!"
Youcai roared, and rushed out like lightning, engaging in a battle with the monster. His swordsmanship was sharp, and every move was deadly. Despite the monster's huge size, it could not do anything to him.
I took a deep breath and forced myself to calm down. Now was not the time to worry about him. I had more important things to do.
I drew the long whip from my waist, leaped onto the city wall, and scanned the battlefield with a sharp gaze. Although the enemy's attack was fierce, our soldiers were no pushovers. They were well-trained, coordinated, and tenaciously resisted the enemy's attack.
"Soldiers, don't be afraid! We are the side of justice, and victory will ultimately belong to us!"
My voice, enhanced by magic, spread throughout the battlefield, and everyone's face showed a look of determination.
"Kill for our homeland!"
I raised my whip high and charged into the enemy camp. My whip technique was learned from Youcai, and while not as fierce and domineering as his, it was still flexible and varied, and each lash could take several lives.
"Your Majesty! Be careful!"
A soldier cried out in surprise, and I looked up to see a skeleton general with a huge axe charging towards me. I quickly dodged, but the axe still grazed my shoulder, leaving a deep bloody mark.
"hateful!"
I clutched my wound, anger boiling in my heart. I swung my whip again, entangling the skeleton general, and with a powerful tug, pulled him off his horse.
"Your Majesty is mighty!"
The morale of the soldiers around me was greatly boosted, and they all moved closer to me, surrounded me and protected me.
I looked up into the distance and saw black mist gathering above the battlefield. The scene was like a huge whirlpool, swallowing everything.
"Mengmeng, look!"
Youcai pointed in that direction, his face serious, "What is that?"
I followed his gaze, and a bold guess suddenly occurred to me: "Could it be..."
The black mist grew thicker, like the eye at the center of a storm, greedily devouring the light and life around it. My heartbeat quickened as it spun, and an unprecedented sense of crisis gripped me.
"Mengmeng, if my guess is correct, that black fog is their command center and the source of their power." Youcai looked solemn, with an imperceptible tremor in his tone.
A flash of inspiration struck me, as if I had grasped something crucial. "You're saying that if we destroy it, we can defeat them completely?"
"That's right! But..." Youcai looked troubled, "That must be the most heavily guarded place. We..."
"No buts!" I interrupted him, my eyes determined. "This is our only chance of winning. We have to do it!"
I took a deep breath and shouted an order: "Pass the order down, select 500 elite soldiers, and follow me to raid the enemy's command center!"
"Your Majesty! This is too dangerous!" The generals around me tried to dissuade me, but my determination was unshakable.
Youcai held my hand, his eyes firm: "I'll go with you!"
Five hundred elite soldiers, like arrows from a bow, charged towards the center of the terrifying black fog. Along the way, we encountered frantic enemy attacks. The clash of magic and swords was endless, blood and flesh flew everywhere, and screams shook the earth.
I swung my whip, putting all my strength into every blow, tearing the enemy in front of me into pieces. Blood stained my armor red, but I felt no pain. I had only one belief in my heart: destroy it and end this war!
"Mengmeng, be careful!" Youcai's voice sounded in my ears. I dodged to the side and a black sharp blade flew past my nose and was deeply nailed into the city wall behind me.
I looked back and saw a long gash on Youcai's left arm, blood gushing out. My heart suddenly sank, and a strong anger rose from the bottom of my heart.
"You're talented!" I rushed to him, tore off my skirt and bandaged his wound.
"I'm fine, just a minor injury." Youcai endured the pain and gave me a comforting smile.
We continued to charge forward. Of the five hundred elite soldiers, only less than a hundred remained. Each one was wounded, but their eyes remained determined, and not one of them retreated.
Finally, we broke through the numerous obstacles and arrived in front of the black fog. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the black fog was even larger and more terrifying than I had imagined. It was like a huge abyss, emitting a suffocating sense of oppression.
"Prepare for battle!" I drew the long sword from my waist and pointed it forward. My voice was trembling, but still firm.
At this moment, the black fog suddenly began to swirl, and a gigantic figure slowly emerged from it...
Emerging from the black fog was a gigantic, twisted monster. It had a humanoid outline, but with octopus-like tentacles and a bloody maw. Its crimson eyes burned with evil fire. It roared, deafeningly, like a demon from the depths of hell.
"What the hell is this?!" the soldier behind me exclaimed, and fear spread among the crowd.
"Don't be afraid! It's just bluffing!" Youcai roared, "Everyone, follow me and kill it!"
We launched a final charge against the monster with all our might. Swords and knives struck it, but it felt like cutting through solid rock, leaving only shallow marks. The monster swung its tentacles, sending approaching soldiers flying one by one, and screams echoed.
"Mengmeng, we have to find a way to attack its core!" Youcai shouted to me while resisting the monster's attack.
"Core? Where is it?" I swung the whip and lashed out a tentacle that tried to attack me.
"It's right there on its chest, where the light is!"
I followed Youcai's guidance and saw a black light flashing on the monster's chest. That was the source of its power!
"Cover me!" I shouted, and rushed towards the monster's chest despite the attack.
Youcai and the other soldiers fought tooth and nail to block the monster's tentacles, clearing a bloody path for me. I finally reached the monster, leaped high, and thrust my sword into the black light!
"Ah!" The monster let out a shrill scream, its massive body trembling violently. The black light instantly died, and the surrounding black fog began to dissipate, revealing a clear sky.
we won!
I collapsed on the ground powerlessly, watching the monster's corpse gradually turn into ashes, and a huge wave of joy and exhaustion surged in my heart.
"We...we won..." Youcai leaned weakly beside me, with a look of relief on his face for surviving the disaster.
"Yeah, we won..." I turned to look at him with a tired smile on my face.
However, before we had time to celebrate our victory, we suddenly heard the sound of dense footsteps around us.
"Oh no! There's an ambush!" Youcai stood up suddenly and pulled me up.
We are surrounded!
Countless men in black rushed in from all directions, surrounding us. They held sharp blades in their hands, their eyes icy, like evil spirits crawling out of hell, seeking revenge.
"Protect His Majesty!" The dozens of remaining soldiers fought hard, but they were outnumbered and were soon overwhelmed by the men in black.
"Mengmeng, run!" Youcai swung his sword and knocked down a man in black, shouting to me anxiously.
"I won't leave! Let's go together!" I gripped the sword tightly in my hand and fought alongside him.
We stood back to back, struggling to resist the attacks of the men in black. However, we were all exhausted, our wounds still ached, and the scene before us was becoming increasingly blurry...
"Mengmeng, do you remember that crystal?" Youcai suddenly grabbed my hand and said hurriedly, "Quick, take it out!"
I immediately understood what he meant, and with trembling hands, I pulled out the shimmering crystal from my pocket...
