Chapter 2599: Shoulder Your Own Burden, Walk the Road to the End!
"A throne forged from white bones?"
The mysterious elder woman’s eyes revealed a trace of surprise. "You do understand it quite thoroughly. Fine, just for that statement, I grant you permission to write a letter to your mentor, but make sure you choose the words carefully."
Carson Flores’s eyes lit up, and he nodded decisively. "Rest assured, senior. I’ll only mention severing ties and won’t disclose anything about you."
The elder woman sneered, "Think it through. I intended to drag the Dragon Mountain Sect into this, but I find you somewhat interesting, so I’m allowing you to do this exceptionally. But if you have any ulterior motives, even if you manage to escape, Dragon Tiger Mountain won’t, so don’t say I didn’t warn you."
Carson Flores responded with a calm demeanor, "I have no ties with the Myriad Immortals Palace. If I oppose them, so be it. There’s nothing morally unconscionable there—at best, they’re just stronger. If we truly can’t compete, at worst, I’ll flee. If I can’t escape, then I’ll just have to die."
The elder woman stared into Carson Flores’s eyes, her gaze sharp as lightning, yet Carson met it with a tranquil heart, showing no fear.
It’s certainly not wise to oppose the Myriad Immortals Palace, but Carson Flores had no choice at the moment.
This mysterious and extraordinarily powerful elder woman had clearly set her sights on him. Running away was not an option. Firstly, it was too dangerous and escape was uncertain. Secondly, even if he fled successfully, his Sect would still be at risk. If she truly lost her mind and attacked the Dragon Mountain Sect, with the strength she displayed, the Sect couldn’t withstand her.
He had to take responsibility for his actions!
If he was forced to stay by her side, who knows how much more he’d have to do and how deeply he’d "darken." It was better to sever ties with the Dragon Mountain Sect early.
Given Carson Flores’s understanding of Floating Cloud, he might not believe the words of severance, likely realizing it was due to certain compulsion. But if one day the Myriad Immortals Palace held the Dragon Mountain Sect accountable, at least this would serve as proof. Whether the Palace would believe it or its utility, however, remained uncertain.
"Alright, as long as you have clarity."
The elder woman withdrew her gaze and said in an indifferent tone, "Record it yourself. You can hire someone to send it back at the next town."
Carson Flores cupped his hands in gratitude, "Thank you, senior!"
"My surname is Zane, call me Master of the Cave."
Finished speaking, the elder woman sat cross-legged on the boat, closing her eyes.
Master of the Cave?
Typically, this title refers to someone of a certain faction or someone with a personal cave mansion, where everyone in the residence respectfully addresses its master as such.
Now, he was considered one of her subordinates,.
Carson Flores glanced at Niall Sinclair, and they both subtly exhaled in relief.
For now, they had survived this calamity.
"Are you really going to leave the Dragon Mountain Sect?"
Carson Flores smirked, sending a message, "I have no other choice. Better to cut it off early, to avoid bringing disaster to the Sect. They’ve treated me well; I can’t implicate them."
Niall Sinclair pursed his lips, "Following her to contend with the Myriad Immortals Palace?"
Carson Flores replied, "One step at a time. We’re just too weak. As long as we’re alive, there’s a path forward. If the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain becomes uninhabitable, we’ll head to another Immortal Domain."
After a pause, Carson Flores blinked, "If all else fails, we can seek out True Sage Grand Void in the Bitter Sea Immortal Domain or Norric the Shepherd in the Crimson Immortal Domain. Even if difficulties arise, with their protection, the Ten Thousand Immortals Hall Master may not be able to do us harm."
Niall Sinclair softly remarked, "We still need to survive the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain first."
Carson Flores sighed silently, "At this moment, we have no freedom of choice."
Niall Sinclair stared into Carson Flores’s eyes, "If she asks us to tackle some Sect and kill those with whom we have no grievances, will you do it?"
Carson Flores was silent for a moment and did not reply.
Niall Sinclair asked no further.
The two exchanged glances, understanding the look in each other’s eyes.
Passing through a city, Carson Flores recorded a video before the enigmatic Master Zane, then hired someone at a local guild to deliver the Soulmirror Stone to the Northern Sea Dragon Mountain Sect Branch, instructing them to pass it to Floating Cloud.
As they set off again, Carson Flores adjusted his mindset, considering himself a subordinate of this mysterious Master Zane.
"Master of the Cave, where are we headed, westward all the way?"
"Hmm!"
Carson Flores hesitated, "Master of the Cave, you have many War Slaves. Were they purchased?"
Master Zane replied coolly, "Why do you ask?"
Carson Flores candidly revealed his intention, "Just curious. If the Master is highly proficient, I’d like to inquire about the Soul Separation Technique. Previously, on a commercial voyage to Black Soul City, my aim was to consult with the Soul Spirit Association regarding the Soul Separation Technique."
Master Zane fixed her eyes on Carson Flores, "The Soul Separation Technique, I know it."
Carson Flores’s eyes widened in unexpected delight.
Before he could reach the Soul Spirit Association, he inadvertently became someone else’s subordinate, and not only did this person wield exceptionally powerful Time Divine Ability, but she also had profound expertise on the soul, understanding the Soul Separation Technique!
