Chapter 1443: Divine Enlightenment Mountain
Chapter 1443: Divine Enlightenment Mountain
With Yun Mengyao and Yin Qianqian around, the journey would never be lonely.
They bickered noisily all along the way.
On the twelfth day, Qin Yi finally arrived at their destination.
Divine Enlightenment Mountain was right before his eyes.
"Qin Yi, what do you think this Divine Enlightenment Mountain looks like?" Yun Mengyao asked.
Qin Yi studied it for a while. "It looks like a person standing upright."
This Divine Enlightenment Mountain was shaped like a giant standing there, two small peaks supporting a great one, atop which sat yet another small peak, though in truth it was all one whole.
From afar, it really did look like a person standing, with arms, legs, and a head.
"The shape of this Divine Enlightenment Mountain is really something else."
Qiu Yuhai said, "Rumor has it that this Divine Enlightenment Mountain is what a Heavenly God turned into after falling."
Qin Yi couldn’t help but laugh; he knew a story like that—about the one who split heaven and earth apart, Pangu.
Divine Enlightenment Mountain sat amid towering ranges and jagged peaks.
Qin Yi and the others were standing on the summit of a nearby mountain.
"There are quite a lot of people here. They’re all here for the Ancient Battlefield, right?"
Qiu Yuhai nodded. "This is just a bit. When the Ancient Battlefield actually opens, that’s when you’ll see crowds—like crucian carp crossing a river, so many you can’t even count them."
"The Ancient Relic is just too tempting for Qi Refiners."
Qin Yi sighed. "Aside from the Netherworld Hall Master and his son, there must be quite a few others just like them, all trapped inside, right?"
Qiu Yuhai nodded.
"The path of Cultivation is like walking on the edge of a blade. You never know when you’ll lose your life."
Qiu Yuhai felt this deeply. Sometimes, just to fight over a bit of resources, it was common to battle to the death.
Qi Refiners might command power beyond ordinary people, but the dangers they constantly faced were countless. Those who could truly walk to the end were few and far between.
Qiu Yuhai withdrew his thoughts. "Little friend Qin Yi, did you see anything?"
Qin Yi shook his head slightly. "You all wait here. I’ll go have a look."
Qin Yi turned into a streak of flowing light and shot across the sky toward Divine Enlightenment Mountain.
Divine Enlightenment Mountain soared a thousand meters high, clouds and mist coiling around its waist, its slopes steep and sheer.
Qiu Yuhai had said that the passage to the Ancient Relic had opened halfway up the mountainside back then.
Qin Yi flew a full circle around the mountainside, but didn’t find anything.
On his way here, Qin Yi had guessed that since the passage could open and close on its own, it was quite likely an Array.
Because only when the power of an Array was exhausted would such a situation occur.
But now it seemed completely different from what he had guessed. There wasn’t the slightest trace of an Array here.
Qin Yi stepped forward and pressed close to the rock wall to examine it.
Since it wasn’t an Array, then it was highly likely to be a mechanism.
"Boom!"
The mountain shook, boulders tumbling down.
Qin Yi turned his head and saw an old man with extremely strong Cultivation slam a fist into the rock wall, blasting a huge pit into it.
The old man watched for a while, then shook his head in disappointment and left.
Qin Yi awkwardly lowered his hand. He had been planning to try punching it as well to see if the mountain’s interior was hollow. He hadn’t expected someone to beat him to it.
Just now, when the old man struck, Qin Yi had heard it clearly—the sound from within the mountain was dull and heavy, proving that its interior was solid.
Not an Array, not a mechanism, and the mountain’s belly wasn’t hollow either.
That was very strange.
Could it really be an Absolute Domain?
But an Absolute Domain should vanish once its owner fell.
Everyone in the Ancient Battlefield had long since died. Could some great terror really have survived?
If that were the case, then Jing Wangyou and the others were probably in grave danger, with little chance of making it out alive.
Unwilling to give up, Qin Yi searched several more times, but still found nothing, and could only return for now.
Facing Qiu Yuhai’s hopeful gaze, Qin Yi could only shake his head helplessly.
Qiu Yuhai gave a bitter smile. "It’s fine. I’ve already checked every inch of the mountain myself and also found nothing."
"Let’s eat something first."
Qin Yi and the others had brought food and water when they came.
They sat on the ground in a circle, and by the time they were full and had their fill of drink, it was already late.
There was deep worry between Qiu Yuhai’s brows. "Let’s rest for the night and think of something tomorrow."
Qin Yi nodded slightly. Being anxious wouldn’t help here.
At midnight, the silver moon hung round like a plate.
Yun Mengyao suddenly opened her eyes and snapped her head toward Qin Yi.
Qiu Yuhai and Yin Qianqian had already woken up as well, and were both staring at Qin Yi.
They saw Qin Yi, seated cross-legged in Cultivation, his face twisted in pain, body trembling uncontrollably, blue veins bulging on his forehead, neck, and temples, his teeth chattering with a harsh clacking sound.
Yun Mengyao’s delicate face turned pale. "Qin Yi, Qin Yi, what’s wrong with you?"
Yet Qin Yi didn’t react at all, his whole body drenched in sweat, as if he were enduring some inhuman torment.
"Qin Yi, Qin Yi, wake up!"
No matter how Yun Mengyao called out, there was no response.
"Senior, what’s wrong with Qin Yi?" Yun Mengyao’s face was full of anxiety.
Qiu Yuhai and Yin Qianqian both shook their heads.
Just now, they had woken to the sound of Qin Yi’s pained groans, and he had already been in this state.
"He should have fallen into Deviation." Qiu Yuhai said.
Yun Mengyao was completely stunned. Deviation? How was that possible?
Yin Qianqian said doubtfully, "He was fine, so why would he suddenly fall into Deviation?"
"I don’t know. Let’s try giving him a hand and help him calm down."
Qiu Yuhai spoke.
Deviation was no joke. A single misstep, and at best your Cultivation would be ruined; at worst you’d die and your Dao would vanish.
Qiu Yuhai and Yin Qianqian raised their hands at the same time, and a ray of white light and a ray of Silver Light surged toward Qin Yi together.
But before the two lights reached Qin Yi, they were shattered outright by the Purple Light spreading out from his body.
Qiu Yuhai’s expression changed drastically. "Not good, he’s resisting."
Yun Mengyao was so anxious she was about to cry. "Senior, think of something, hurry and save Qin Yi."
"Qin Yi is resisting our Bamboo Forest. If we forcefully help him, it’ll only make things worse for him."
"Then what do we do?"
Watching Qin Yi groan in agony, his handsome features contorted beyond recognition, Yun Mengyao hated herself for being too weak in Cultivation.
"I’m so useless. I really only drag everyone down."
Her heart was filled with guilt.
"Don’t blame yourself, Fairy Yun. Deviation can only be overcome by oneself. Having higher Cultivation doesn’t help."
Qiu Yuhai tried to comfort her, then added, "All we can do now is wait. Little friend Qin Yi is extraordinarily gifted. I believe he can make it through this trial."
Qin Yi’s trembling grew more and more violent, and strange phenomena began to appear on his body.
On the left side of his body, purple rosy light burst forth from within.
On the right side, crimson rosy light spread out.
No one noticed that on a mountaintop to their left, there was someone in almost the exact same state as Qin Yi.
A young man no less handsome than Qin Yi, except his looks leaned toward a softer, more effeminate beauty, whereas Qin Yi’s were filled with blazing masculinity.
The young man was also seated cross-legged on the peak, his face full of pain, features twisted, his entire body shrouded in crimson rosy light.
Suddenly, the young man’s eyes snapped open, and two blood-colored red lights shot out from his eyes, lancing toward the belly of Divine Enlightenment Mountain like laser beams.
On this side, Qin Yi also opened his eyes abruptly; as his gaze opened and closed, a Purple Light and a red light blasted forth.
