Chapter 983 - 213: Epilogue 7
As soon as she stepped out, Rong Sinan immediately got up from the sofa, his handsome face tense as he walked toward her.
Tang Yige stood at the door watching Rong Sinan, the fearless and resilient demeanor she exhibited in the study room while facing Fang Jingyi dissipated entirely like a balloon pricked by a slender needle.
Tang Yige’s heart felt heavily fatigued, yet her face revealed nothing.
She stepped toward him.
As they got close, Rong Sinan grabbed one of Tang Yige’s hands, pulling her into his embrace.
Tang Yige tilted her delicate face up to smile at him, her hand pressed against his chest, "What are you doing?"
Rong Sinan’s gaze was concerned and anxious, his thin lips pressed tightly together. He glanced towards Fang Jingyi, who had emerged from the study and was now standing at the door gazing at him and Yige, then lowered his eyes, staring intently into Tang Yige’s eyes.
As if trying to discern something from them.
Tang Yige glanced back briefly, softly looking at Rong Sinan with a gentle voice, "Aunt Gu’s birthday is coming up; I’m missing a few steps on her cheongsam, so I’m heading upstairs to finish it."
Rong Sinan tightened his grip on Yige’s hand, his gaze filled with doubt.
Tang Yige smiled, gazing at him with helplessness in her eyes, "I promised Little Yanzi; if I can’t produce the cheongsam, considering his clamorous nature, he’ll nag me until my ears grow calluses, it would be terribly annoying."
Rong Sinan took a deep breath, glanced at Fang Jingyi, and then released Tang Yige’s hand, "I’ll come up later."
"...I’m working; why come up?" Tang Yige said with a smile.
Rong Sinan remained silent.
Tang Yige sighed lightly in her heart, saying, "Then I’ll go."
Rong Sinan nodded.
Tang Yige did not look back at Fang Jingyi, walking straight toward the stairs.
Fang Jingyi stood at the study door, watching Tang Yige walk up to the second floor, before slowly approaching Rong Sinan.
Rong Sinan heard the footsteps and retracted his gaze from the stairs, focusing intently on Fang Jingyi, with a flicker of sharpness in his clear eyes.
Fang Jingyi noticed, let out a low hum, "Why look at me like this? Do you think I could bully her? You worry about her, why not worry about me."
Rong Sinan frowned slightly, "I’ll take you back."
"...Did I say I was leaving?"
Fang Jingyi feigned anger, glaring at Rong Sinan, then spun on her heels, heading toward Rong Rui’s room.
Seeing this, Rong Sinan pursed his lips tightly, unable to say anything to her.
Rong Sinan watched Fang Jingyi go into Rong Rui’s room, clenched his fists, and turned to head upstairs.
But he hadn’t reached the stairway.
Fang Jingyi, who had just entered Rong Rui’s room, came out again.
Rong Sinan paused, looking at Fang Jingyi.
Meeting his gaze, Fang Jingyi glanced slightly, saying, "I just went in to see if Little Rui had kicked off his blanket."
Pausing for a few seconds, Fang Jingyi continued, "Didn’t you say you’d take me back? Let’s go."
Rong Sinan, "..."
...
In the end, Fang Jingyi only allowed Rong Sinan to take her to a beauty salon, saying she suddenly made an appointment with Fang Jingting for some treatments.
Rong Sinan parked in front of the salon, gazing at Fang Jingyi, his eyes steady.
Fang Jingyi didn’t look at Rong Sinan; she unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car. After exiting, she also didn’t glance back at Rong Sinan, instead walked straight into the salon.
Rong Sinan squinted as Fang Jingyi entered the salon before driving away.
Just about two or three minutes after Rong Sinan drove off, Fang Jingyi, who had initially walked into the salon, stepped out again.
About ten minutes later, Fang Jingting’s car rolled to a stop outside the salon.
"Sis."
Fang Jingting lowered the rear window and called out to Fang Jingyi.
Fang Jingyi glanced around, lips pressed tightly as she quickly walked over, opening the rear door and sitting inside.
"Why did you urgently call me out today?" Fang Jingting asked, feeling Fang Jingyi seemed excessively serious.
"To Linx Hospital." Fang Jingyi didn’t answer Fang Jingting’s question but spoke to the driver instead.
The driver glanced inquisitively at Fang Jingting through the rearview mirror.
Fang Jingting eyed Fang Jingyi oddly before nodding at the driver.
Only then did the driver start the car, heading towards Linx Hospital.
"Sis, why are you going to the hospital? Are you not feeling well?" Fang Jingting asked, surveying Fang Jingyi with a frown.
"I’m going to do an identification." Fang Jingyi slowly squinted, saying.
It was only after her conversation with Tang Yige that she thought of doing this identification.
Although Rong Rui was charming, she found herself inexplicably fond of him upon first sight.
Still, she had her reservations about Tang Yige.
Her private life was chaotic, her means numerous.
Rong Sinan was deceived by her, everything she said was accepted, including Little Rui.
If she wasn’t careful, she’d end up wasting resources, unknowingly raising someone else’s child, a thought too unbearable.
To prevent possible regret, this identification had to be done, no exceptions!
"What identification?" Fang Jingting asked, confused.
Fang Jingyi looked at her, her eyes flashing, "Accompany me to the hospital to see Old Zhang first, then we’ll sit somewhere, and I’ll tell you in detail."
Old Zhang was Fang Jingyi’s family doctor, who had attended to the various health issues of her and Rong Jun while he was alive, someone she trusted.
Furthermore, he was a seasoned professor at the hospital, arranging a paternity test would be effortless.
"What is it, all secretive." Fang Jingting muttered softly, but since she already said so, she didn’t pursue the topic further.
...
After exiting the hospital, Fang Jingyi and Fang Jingting went to the beauty salon.
Fang Jingyi narrated the story about Rong Rui to Fang Jingting while having a beauty treatment.
Hearing this, Fang Jingting was stunned.
After the shock, there was a hint of discomfort.
She had two sons, and she too had two.
Yet both of her sons were ahead of her in having kids.
It left Fang Jingting, who always somewhat competed with Fang Jingyi, quite discontented.
But upon learning about Tang Yige’s affairs and Fang Jingyi’s doubts regarding Rong Rui’s identity prompting the paternity test, she felt both astonishment towards Tang Yige and a peculiar sense of balance.
"If Rong Rui’s test shows he’s really Sinan’s son, what do you plan to do?" Fang Jingting asked, touching the face mask covering her face, casting a curious glance at Fang Jingyi.
Fang Jingyi also glanced at her with the corner of her eye, "If Little Rui is Sinan’s son, that’s ideal, as I like him."
"Will you accept Tang Yige being with Sinan then?" Fang Jingting questioned.
Fang Jingyi considered, saying, "How could I agree?! If it were you, could you accept a woman like that marrying into your Huo Family as your daughter-in-law?"
"No way!" Fang Jingting shrugged, quickly saying, "Our Huo Family can’t accommodate such a big figure like Tang Yige."
Fang Jingyi squinted, "Then that’s it."
"What if Sinan insists on being with her? Just like Mo Chen disregarded your strong opposition and stayed with Jin Jumo. After all, there was nothing you could do." Fang Jingting remarked.
Displeased, Fang Jingyi glanced at Fang Jingting, as if blaming her for bringing up sore points.
Fang Jingting pursed her lips inwardly.
What she said was true!
"I’ve devoted my entire soul to Sinan. Sinan is like my life. He’s completely different from Mo Chen. Mo Chen never clung to me since childhood, nor did he ever proactively care for me."
He insisted on marrying Jin Jumo, even at the cost of severing mother-son ties. Although I was saddened and angry, the situation was settled, so I let him be. But Sinan, no way! Sinan has been exceptional from a young age, showing immense care and obedience toward me, equal to that of a daughter."
"Since Sinan’s father passed away, Sinan has gone through a lot, faced numerous hardships, even sacrificed his future at the Rong Family for Mo Chen. That’s more than enough. Hence, I will never allow Sinan to suffer any more harm."
"Even if it costs my life, I won’t stand idly by as Sinan falls into the hands of the perverse Tang Yige. As mothers, you should understand me."
Fang Jingting certainly understood.
"But ultimately, Rong Rui is Tang Yige and Sinan’s biological child. If you stubbornly separate them, have you considered Little Rui?" Fang Jingting asked.
Fang Jingyi glared at her, "In the whole of Z City, is there no other woman besides Tang Yige? I don’t believe I can’t find someone willing to treat Little Rui well and be entirely loyal to Sinan!"
Fang Jingting lowered her eyes, pondered briefly, then nodded, "Indeed. If it were me, I’d struggle to believe a woman like Tang Yige could play the role of a competent mother."
Upon hearing this, Fang Jingyi gave her a glance, raised her eyebrows, but said no more.
