The CEO's Wife Is a Medical Master

Chapter 350: Already Taken

Chapter 350: Already Taken

"I’ll go wherever you go," Alistair Forrest replied matter-of-factly, a faint smile playing on his lips.

The two bodyguards behind him were speechless, silently lamenting, ’Young Master, your game has gotten rusty! This is the mainland, not Marinus! You’re going to scare the girl off acting like this!’

The two of them took a step back, as if to show they weren’t with him!

Vera Xavier’s gaze turned cold. ’So this guy is a barnacle?’

Jack Judd and Aaron Cheney had also figured it out: this guy was hitting on Vera Xavier.

Jack Judd immediately snapped, "Our sister-in-law is already taken. Piss off!"

Aaron Cheney simply moved to stand in front of Vera Xavier, completely shielding her from view.

Seeing this, Alistair Forrest said with an unconcerned air, "Even if she’s taken, a little competition never hurts. I’m actually quite interested in this ’Big Brother’ of yours. His taste is excellent, a man after my own heart. If I get the chance to meet him someday, I’d love to... compare notes."

Aaron Cheney corrected him. "Not Big Brother. Third Brother."

Jack Judd shot Alistair Forrest a contemptuous look. "A pipsqueak like you? My brother would pulverize you in a heartbeat!"

Vera Xavier pinched the bridge of her nose. ’This is ridiculous!’

Alistair Forrest didn’t get angry. Instead, he just smiled and said, "Is that so? Then I’m even more eager to meet your Third Brother!"

Vera Xavier had finally had enough. She stepped out from behind Aaron Cheney and said, "It must have been quite a trip for you, Mr. Forrest, coming all the way from Marinus to Trellis. I assume you’re here on business, to procure jade. The three of us are just here for fun. If you’re willing to stand here and waste time with us, then by all means, we’ll keep you company."

Her meaning was crystal clear: if he insisted on following her, she would simply stand still. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.

"Honey, you’re breaking my heart," Alistair Forrest said with a long sigh. "Alright, I’ll see you in a bit, then. Let me treat you to a mushroom feast for lunch!"

Vera scoffed. "I may not be as loaded as you, Mr. Forrest, but I have enough money to buy my own meal. I wouldn’t want you to go to the expense."

The rejection didn’t seem to faze Alistair Forrest in the slightest. He spread his hands casually and said, "Alright, then. If you manage to cut open a high-quality piece of jade, please sell it to me. I’m willing to offer a very fair price."

The two bodyguards behind him took another step back. ’Young Master, we are not your bodyguards! We don’t know you! Your ’Honey’ is obviously a total newbie at jade gambling. What kind of jade could she possibly find? Don’t you dare try to win her over by paying an Emperor Green price for some low-grade bean-green piece she cuts open!’

Vera, of course, had no idea what the bodyguards were thinking. In fact, she rather appreciated Alistair Forrest’s all-business attitude. She wasn’t familiar with the market and had been worrying about what she would do if she actually found a good piece of jade and had no one to sell it to.

So she nodded and said, "Alright. In that case, thank you in advance!"

Alistair Forrest gestured with an open hand toward one of the aisles. "I’ll go this way."

Vera Xavier pointed in the opposite direction. "And I’ll go this way."

Alistair Forrest’s lips quirked. He chuckled, then left with his two bodyguards.

In reality, he would never have come to a jade auction with only two bodyguards. Several expert stone assessors were nearby, and they had already selected the raw stones. They needed him to go over and give the final approval. He didn’t actually have time to follow Vera around.
