Nirvana Heiress: Reborn and Returning to Stir Up a Storm

Chapter 148 Aftermath

Chapter 148 Aftermath

Shen Fang sat in the dimly lit room, raindrops sliding down the windowpane, reflecting her haggard face. The past few days had been a rollercoaster ride, from being in control to losing control and collapsing; all her efforts had slipped through her fingers like sand.

The red warning numbers on her phone screen reminded her of the reality that her account was frozen. Her agent kept calling, and all the calls were filled with panic, questions, and calls to resign.

“President Shen, our cash flow has completely dried up, and we can no longer continue operating.” Huo Wen stood in front of her, his tone filled with helplessness. “The police have started investigating us. If we don’t get out of here soon, I’m afraid…”

"Shut up!" Shen Fang's voice was filled with anger as she slammed her hand on the table. "You think I don't know? Lin Chuyue, this was her doing!"

Her gaze fell on the screen, where the notice of the frozen accounts clearly stated the name of the Lin Group. This fueled the flames of anger within Shen Fang, yet she was powerless to do anything about it.

"What do we do now?" Huo Wen asked in a low voice. "Can we still fight back?"

Shen Fang stared out the window, a ruthless glint in her eyes: "No matter what, I will not let Lin Chuyue reap the rewards of victory alone."

In the conference room of the Lin Group, Lin Chuyue was summarizing the operation with her team. The documents spread out on the table recorded every detail of the operation: the flow of funds, the agent accounts, the freezing orders, and everything was in perfect order.

“Shen Fang has completely lost any chance to turn things around,” Li Gang said softly. “Her cash flow has been almost completely cut off, and the police have begun to freeze her related accounts. Once the investigation results are out, she probably will never be able to make a comeback.”

Lin Chuyue nodded slightly, flipping through the report in her hand, her tone calm: "Although Shen Fang has been brought under control, the aftermath still needs to be handled carefully. This operation will inevitably attract media attention, and we must ensure that the group's reputation is not affected."

Li Zhanchuan leaned against the wall, arms crossed, and said in a low voice, "I've already arranged for the public relations department to prepare a statement that will respond to external doubts with the company's positive image. At the same time, we will also remind the forces behind Shen Fang to know that you are not someone to be trifled with."

Lin Chuyue looked up, her eyes filled with gratitude: "Zhanchuan, we really owe you a lot this time."

Li Zhanchuan smiled slightly, his tone tinged with a hint of teasing: "What, are you only realizing how powerful I am now?"

Lin Chuyue couldn't help but smile: "You've always been very capable, I knew that a long time ago."

Just when Lin Chuyue thought everything had settled down, an anonymous email from the company instantly put her on edge.

The email included a document detailing vulnerabilities in certain projects of the Lin Group and the significant risks these vulnerabilities could pose. The document's source was none other than—Shen Fang.

Lin Chuyue looked at the email on the screen, her eyes darkening slightly: "She's still not giving up, and actually wants to use these loopholes to shake the foundation of the group."

Li Zhanchuan stood beside her, his cold gaze sweeping over the documents: "It seems she intends to use her last resort to leave you with hidden dangers. She is indeed very clever, but we have long been prepared for these loopholes."

Lin Chuyue's lips curled into a cold smile: "She thinks she can threaten me with these things? She's seriously underestimating my abilities."

She quickly dialed Li Gang's number: "Immediately summon all relevant department heads. We need to plug these loopholes as quickly as possible to ensure that the group is not affected in any way."

Working late into the night, when Lin Chuyue walked out of the conference room, only a few lights were still on in the entire company.

Li Zhanchuan stood at the end of the corridor. When he saw her come out, he immediately came up to her and handed her a cup of warm jujube tea: "You've been busy all day. Have something hot to warm you up."

Lin Chuyue accepted the tea and thanked him softly, "Zhanchuan, thank you so much for today. If it weren't for you, I probably wouldn't have been able to hold on until now."

Li Zhanchuan looked down at her, his tone gentle: "You've always been stronger than you think. I only gave you a little help; you're the one who truly solved the problem."

Lin Chuyue looked up at him, a hint of emotion flashing in her eyes: "But your support is very important to me."

Li Zhanchuan reached out and gently ruffled her hair, then said softly, "From now on, let me always stand by your side."

Lin Chuyue was slightly taken aback, then lowered her head to hide the embarrassment on her face: "Okay, I'll consider it."

The two smiled at each other, and the chill of the night seemed to dissipate somewhat.

Soon after, the police issued an international arrest warrant, all of Shen Fang's assets were frozen, and she was forced to live under an assumed name and flee to a small country in Southeast Asia, where she lived a life of hardship and destitution.

In a run-down little hotel, Shen Fang sat on the edge of the bed, clutching a crumpled photograph in her hand. It was a picture of her when she was full of vigor and ambition, but now she looked weathered and exhausted.

"Lin Chuyue..." she murmured softly, her eyes filled with resentment, "I will definitely come back..."

However, the moment she uttered those words, she knew that the hope of returning was so slim as to be almost impossible.
