Chapter 297 Preliminary Agreement
Chapter 297 Preliminary Agreement
Lin Chuyue stepped out of the conference room and was greeted by the sun-drenched plaza. Sunlight streamed through the glass windows of the high-rise building, illuminating her and seemingly bathing her in a soft glow. However, her mood was not as bright as the scene outside.
The initial cooperation agreement reached with that company seemed to be on the right track, but she knew this was only a facade of peace. Deng Wenhao's shadow still lurked around, and his true purpose remained unknown. Every step she took was crucial to her future fate.
“Deng Wenhao, every move he makes is like a trap that has been laid in advance.” Lin Chuyue murmured to herself, a cold glint in her eyes, “But I cannot back down easily.”
She took a deep breath, trying to suppress her unease, but the underlying anxiety persisted. Deng Wenhao's threat felt like an invisible thread tightening around her neck, making her feel suffocated. However, she knew that only through this seemingly calm game could she uncover Deng Wenhao's true intentions, tear away his disguise, and destroy his conspiracy.
"President Lin, is there something you're worried about?" Ye Chen stepped forward, his keen eyes catching a hint of something unusual in her eyes.
Lin Chuyue regained her composure and smiled slightly, "It's just a little doubt. The previous negotiations seemed to have gone too smoothly."
“Indeed.” Ye Chen nodded. “The background of that company seems rather complicated. If we proceed rashly, we might get involved.”
“That’s why I need to take the initiative in this collaboration,” Lin Chuyue said softly. “On the surface, my collaboration with that company is finalized, but in reality, I’ve already been making arrangements in secret. I must let Deng Wenhao know that all his actions are under my control.”
Ye Chen frowned. "What do you plan to do?"
"I will make sure all the information flows back to Deng Wenhao's ears, so he will mistakenly believe that everything is under his control." Lin Chuyue's tone was casual, but the calmness and decisiveness she conveyed made Ye Chen feel a deep sense of pressure.
She didn't say anything more, but turned and walked towards her office, closing the door behind her. The moment she closed the door, a surging undercurrent seemed to rise within her, quietly gathering energy, waiting for an explosion.
Chess in the Dark
That evening, Lin Chuyue and Gu Yanchuan had a long phone conversation. Gu Yanchuan's tone remained calm, as if he had seen through everything, but Lin Chuyue knew that a trace of worry still lingered in his heart.
"You've done a good job trying to use this cooperation to restrain Deng Wenhao's actions," Gu Yanchuan's voice came from the other end of the phone, slightly deep. "But you need to understand that Deng Wenhao is not so easy to trap."
“I know,” Lin Chuyue replied softly, a complex look flashing in her eyes. “But I have no choice. Deng Wenhao has tried to drag me down time and time again, and I can’t let him continue to dominate the situation.”
She leaned back slowly in her chair, her gaze gradually hardening. "He's just using these business collaborations to try and push me into a corner. But I've already laid a plan to make him think everything is under his control. When the time comes, I'll retaliate and make him understand that I'm the one in control of this game."
Gu Yanchuan remained silent for a moment, seemingly pondering something, then asked, "So, how do you plan to exert further pressure?"
“I will use this cooperation to create more commercial benefits and force him to show himself,” Lin Chuyue said in a low voice. “However, the actions must be discreet enough; I cannot let him realize my true intentions.”
“You need to be careful.” Gu Yanchuan suddenly said in a serious tone, “Deng Wenhao’s methods have always been extremely ruthless. If he feels he is at a disadvantage, he will definitely not show any mercy.”
"I will be careful." Lin Chuyue's voice was filled with an unprecedented firmness.
She closed her eyes, sensing the silence on the other end of the phone. Gu Yanchuan had never truly shown concern for her, but she knew he was worried that it was too dangerous for her to fight alone.
"Thank you," she said softly.
"Well done, stay vigilant." Gu Yanchuan's voice suddenly softened, carrying a hint of barely perceptible concern. "I will support you from behind."
After hanging up the phone, Lin Chuyue smiled slightly. Although this game was full of complex changes, she knew she couldn't back down. She had no way out but to stick to the path she had chosen.
Intertwined Fates
The next day, Lin Chuyue planned to hold an important meeting at the company, mainly to further refine the agreement with the partner company and ensure she could maintain the upper hand in the collaboration. She knew that while the cooperation seemed smooth on the surface, hidden dangers lurked beneath. She had to closely monitor every detail and prevent any loopholes from being exposed.
"President Lin, what are your plans for today's meeting?" Ye Chen asked as he entered the conference room.
"Proceed according to plan." Lin Chuyue's eyes were deep. "We cannot give Deng Wenhao any openings."
Ye Chen nodded. "I understand. We will make sure everything goes as you wish."
The meeting officially began, with participants including representatives from the partner companies' senior management. Lin Chuyue sat at the head of the conference table, calmly and composedly reviewing the documents in front of her, her sharp gaze not missing a single detail.
She knew that today's meeting was not just a negotiation, but a delicate game of strategy. Every word she uttered and every decision she made would directly impact the future situation. And she had already made ample preparations, awaiting the arrival of this turbulent storm.
