As soon as Xi Yu returned to her dormitory, she immediately ran to the balcony to send a text message to her mother.
"Xiaoyu? Didn't you have evening practice class today? Why are you up so early?" Xi Hua's gentle voice suddenly came.
Hearing her mother's calm and steady voice, Xi Yu finally felt relieved. Her mother wasn't good at pretending; if she was in trouble, she could tell just by listening to her voice.
"I miss my mom. I'll go home next weekend. I want to eat sweet and sour pork ribs and chicken soup with mushrooms." Xi Yu relaxed, gently closed her eyes, and leaned against the railing.
In her past life, she was all alone, without parents or family. In this life, however, she has a mother who loves and cherishes her, and therefore she will cherish this family bond all the more.
Xi Hua playfully scolded, "You silly child, why are you still so greedy?"
Xi Yu laughed and continued chatting about things at the military academy. About half an hour later, she said goodnight in advance and prepared to take a shower.
Wei Zi has been back for a while now, and she's been pestering Ruan Zilu to come to the party with her.
“Come on—this is the first gathering ever held by our combat department students!” Wei Zi practically leaned half her body against Ruan Zilu’s arm.
"I...I won't go. I have to go home on my day off..." Ruan Zilu couldn't push her away, so she could only say this reluctantly, glancing at Xi Yu for help.
Xi Yu shrugged and gave her a "do what you want" smile.
Upon hearing Ruan Zilu's refusal, Wei Zi instead showed a delighted expression: "That's perfect! We're planning to hold our gathering at Lintian Restaurant, which is owned by the Ruan family, right? You're the Ruan family's daughter, so getting a private room shouldn't be difficult, right?"

Wei Zi looked at her as if she were a monster. Anyone with even a little ambition would desperately try to get into the combat department. It was unheard of for someone like Ruan Zilu to switch departments halfway through!
"If you're not going to help, then don't! Why make up this lie?" Wei Zi didn't believe it, angrily pushed Ruan Zilu away, and strode out of the room, probably heading to one of her best friends' rooms.
Ruan Zilu sighed helplessly.
"You've already made a decision?" Xi Yu didn't expect Ruan Zilu to be so decisive, having already submitted the application. It seemed she intended to act first and ask for permission later.
"Yes! I've made up my mind!" Ruan Zilu clenched her fists. "After I go home this time, I will persuade my parents and the head of the family. Even if they don't understand, I will not back down!"
Xi Yu wiped the corner of her mouth and put her hand on her shoulder: "Let me know if you need any help."
"Of course I do! My learning pace is much slower than yours, so you'll have to tutor me!" Ruan Zilu said without any hesitation.
Xi Yu naturally agreed.
