Chapter 116 Reunion
Chapter 116 Reunion
"Yu'er, once we get to the Moyi tribe, you should rest well. Look how thin you've become these past few days."
Yu Zijing tidied up the fish soup bowl and gently gave her instructions.
"Okay, I'll listen... Huh?"
Chu Xinyao paused, noticing something amiss in the childcare space.
Inside the childcare space, Snake Xiaoba was lying on Chu Xinyao's robot, hissing and large tears streaming down her face, her eyes filled with excitement and joy.
"Mommy, Mommy, Xiao Ba has finally found you."
The robot possessed the aura of her mother, and her voice trembled as if she had traveled through time and space to finally find the support she needed.
"Little Eight!"
Chu Xinyao placed her hand on her forehead, and a small black snake appeared out of thin air.
"Mommy, Mommy!" Snake Little Eight frantically burrowed into Chu Xinyao's arms, her body trembling as if expressing her longing.
"Xiao Ba, what are you doing here?" Chu Xinyao's face showed surprise. She didn't care how Xiao Ba appeared. She only knew that her child had returned and her child had found her.
Snake Xiaoba raised her head and looked at Chu Xinyao with her moist eyes, full of longing.
Chu Xinyao gently stroked Snake Xiaoba's body, her heart aching at the sight of all that could be touched—only bony skeletons.
"Little Eight, why are you so thin?" A tear fell silently, landing on Little Eight the snake.
Snake Little Eight seemed to understand Chu Xinyao's words. Her body gradually relaxed, knowing she was safe. She was finally back in her mother's arms, wrapping herself around Chu Xinyao's arm and enjoying the long-lost warmth.
Gently stroking the back of Snake Xiao Ba, her fingers combed through its scales. "Xiao Ba, it's okay, Mommy's here."
Snake Xiaoba felt Chu Xinyao's touch, and his body gradually relaxed. His originally tense muscles softened under the soothing numbness.
Suddenly, the sound of flapping wings came from the outer deck of the ship, and a commotion arose outside.
"Xin'er." A familiar voice rang out at the cabin door; it was He Yu, who couldn't wait for the ship to dock.
The urgent voice seemed to have finally been released after a long wait.
Chu Xinyao looked up, first putting Xiao Ba into the child-rearing space, and replied with a smile, "Yu, I'm here."
Crane Feather was extremely eager, finally seeing his long-awaited companion. His eyes were filled with excitement, his heart was pounding, and every step he took was so urgent.
Ignoring the merfolk and beastmen who tried to stop him, he rushed to Chu Xinyao's side. Trembling, he cried out, "Xin'er, you..."
Three months had passed since they last met. Chu Xinyao hadn't lost weight, but she had gotten a bit darker and heavier... He Yu's gaze fell on Chu Xinyao's stomach, somewhat surprised.
"Your stomach?"
Chu Xinyao stroked her belly, a gentle smile on her face: "Yu, these are Xiao Ba's younger brothers and sisters, they are fish and dragons."
"You guys step back first!"
Yu Zijing instructed the group to dismiss the armed and guarded merfolk and beastmen. With him there, no one could harm Chu Xinyao.
Looking at him, He Yu felt a strange tightness in her chest as she thought of the baby in Chu Xinyao's belly.
Yu Zijing smiled and nodded at him, then her gaze returned to Chu Xinyao. "You two have a good time. The ship is almost at the shore, I'll go get ready."
He spoke softly, then turned and left the cabin, leaving Chu Xinyao and He Yu with a private space.
He Yu held Chu Xinyao's hand, his eyes filled with love, "Xin'er, I miss you so much."
His voice was choked with emotion, his heart filled with longing for Chu Xinyao.
Chu Xinyao leaned on He Yu's shoulder, tears streaming down her face. "Yu, I miss you too."
They stood there quietly, feeling each other's body temperature and heartbeat.
Everything around them seemed to freeze at that moment, leaving only the two of them. The sea breeze outside the cabin was still blowing gently, carrying a salty smell and a hint of sweetness.
"Hey, you're really that magnanimous?"
On the deck not far from the door, Fish Bubble, leaning against something, laughed somewhat playfully.
Yu Zijing pursed her lips and glared at him with some displeasure. His eyes held a hint of helplessness, but it was quickly replaced by a smile.
"Instead of laughing at me, aren't you going to think about yourself?" he retorted, his tone provocative.
Fish Bubble raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong with me? I'm doing just fine with the little female. Maybe I'll become her beast husband even before you do."
His words were full of confidence; he and Chu Xinyao had been enjoying each other's company immensely these past few days. They often watched the sunrise together on the deck and talked in the sea breeze. Their relationship was steadily improving, which filled him with anticipation for the future.
"Really? But don't forget, there's still the First Beast Husband there." Yu Zijing gestured with her chin toward the shore. Her voice held a hint of amusement, but also revealed her consideration for the impending situation.
Fish Bubble's gaze pierced through the shimmering sea, focusing on the approaching shore. As the boat slowly drew near, he clearly recognized the two waiting figures.
He had seen Hu Xiao before; his imposing physique was impressive. But today, his attention was drawn to someone else...
Snake Ink stood quietly, his clenched right hand revealing the tension he didn't show.
Several cubs were wrapped around its body. Although they were siblings of Snake Xiao Ba, they did not have the unique senses that Snake Xiao Ba possessed.
"Father, are the mother and mother really on the boat?"
"Xiao Ba is missing. The father beast Crane Feather has already gone over there. The mother beast must be on the ship."
"This is wonderful! We can finally see the female mother."
The snake cubs hissed and chattered. Although they didn't have the sensory abilities of Little Eight, they also shared Chu Xinyao's bloodline. This blood connection filled them with anticipation for their upcoming reunion.
“Father,” the little snake, perched on Snake Ink’s shoulder, turned to look at her father. Although she didn’t have the same sensory abilities as Little Snake Eight, she sensed something else; it seemed she had other younger brothers and sisters.
Her thoughts began to race, and a complex emotion began to spread through her heart.
Her little mouth twitched, and she couldn't help but worry: what if the mother had other babies? Would she not like them anymore?
Perhaps sensing the fluctuation in his beloved daughter's emotions, Snake Ink gently touched Snake's little head.
As the ship slowly approached, Chu Xinyao's figure appeared on the deck. As her figure gradually became clearer, her gaze passed through the crowd on the shore and landed on She Mo and her children.
The snake cubs wriggled excitedly, eager to rush into their mother's embrace. Chu Xinyao opened her arms, her face beaming with smiles.
Snake Ink stepped forward, and the cubs in his arms were overjoyed. They forgot all their other thoughts and only wanted to return to their mother's embrace.
