Chapter 138: Life or Death?
Chapter 138: Life or Death?
After a few days of silence, Lin Shushu thought the Lin family had given up, but unexpectedly, they've come back. She's curious to see what new tricks they have up their sleeves this time.
The person who came was Lin Yu's confidant, named Lin Ping. He was someone who had grown up with Lin Yu and had seen everything he had done.
Before Lin Ping arrived, he learned about Ning Ya's speculations from Lin Yu, and he hoped that his speculations would come true.
Since his former mistress passed away, his master had not lived a good life for many years. If that child hadn't really died, perhaps his master's guilt would be lessened.
The spacecraft hovered above the planet, and Lin Ping directly sent a landing request, making his intentions clear.
"Young Master Cheng'an, I am Lin Ping. I am currently in the airspace above the planet. If you are here, please allow me to land. I have something to discuss with you."
Lin Shushu originally intended to send people directly into outer space, just like last time, but she saw this message just as she was about to take action.
She stared at the words above, initially puzzled, then suddenly understood.
She then asked why the Lin family had suddenly sent people over and over again, because they thought it was her father who was here.
But that doesn't make sense. Her father passed away many years ago, which is why she was sent back to the Lin family. What are these people doing here now? Looking for her father?
Could there be some hidden story behind this? Could it be that her father is not dead?
Lin Shushu had no idea that the root of all this was just Ning Ya's guess, and she certainly didn't expect that Ning Ya had this guess simply because she had taken action against the Lin family.
After all, who would have thought that she, who seemed to know nothing in the eyes of others, could go against the Lin family? They could only connect it all to her father. Compared to her, it seemed more plausible that the incident involved her father.
Lin Shushu did not take action directly, but replied coldly: "This is a private planet. There is no Young Master Cheng'an here. Please leave immediately, or you will bear the consequences."
There was a hint of resentment in her words, and the person who came would surely explain, and then we would know why they mentioned her father.
As expected, after receiving the reply, Lin Ping assumed that Young Master Cheng'an harbored resentment towards the Lin family, which was why he did not want to return. He then sent another message.
"Young Master Cheng'an, please rest assured that the Master will take responsibility for your actions against the younger generation of the Lin family. You will not be punished when you return to the Lin family. The Master is very happy that you are still alive."
Upon seeing these words, Lin Shushu let out a cold laugh. So they'd come to interrogate her. Lin Shushu finally understood why they thought her father wasn't dead; they were trying to pin her actions on him.
Strangely, how did they know that it was "their father" who attacked the younger generation of the Lin family? She was very confident that she had not left any evidence when she did those things.
Then there's only one possibility: they're just guessing, which is why they want their father to go back.
Lin Shushu didn't believe a word of what the message said.
Putting everything else aside, if it really was her father who did it, could he really get away scot-free once he returned to the Lin family? Ning Ya wouldn't be able to get past that hurdle. She didn't believe in the so-called "master taking the blame."
Having learned the reason, Lin Shushu stopped wasting time arguing with them and flew directly to the planet's skies.
The moment she appeared, Lin Ping was somewhat taken aback. Who was this woman? How did she suddenly appear? And why wasn't it Young Master Cheng'an who came?
Before he could voice his doubts, Lin Shushu coldly said, "I told you, the person you're looking for isn't here. Tell your master that if he comes to bother you again, I won't hesitate to come knocking on his door."
After saying that, he waved his hand, sweeping the group of people, along with their aircraft, who were still in a daze, directly into the void.
Before Lin Ping and the others could react, their bodies suddenly flew backward uncontrollably. After flying for a while, just as they were about to fall into the spacetime turbulence, they finally came to their senses and hurriedly activated the emergency escape pod, managing to avoid serious injury.
However, Lin Shushu's move completely shattered their understanding. Was this something that could be done by human beings? They were so shocked that they even forgot to be afraid.
It wasn't until their spacecraft crashed and they landed on an unknown planet that they realized they had just narrowly escaped death.
Fortunately, their communicator was still working, so they immediately requested help and reported what had happened to Lin Yu.
After dealing with those people, Lin Shushu fell into deep thought.
"Shushu, don't be upset. If there's a next time, we'll make sure they never leave alive." Mo Ze thought Lin Shushu was angry because of those people from earlier, so he offered his advice.
Seeing his indignant expression, Lin Shushu shook her head and then revealed her guess.
"Mo Ze, do you think it's possible that my father is really not dead?"
Looking at her expectant eyes, Mo Ze didn't want to say anything to discourage her. "Why do you have this idea, Shu Shu?"
"To be honest, the fact that the guard didn't bring back my father's body is the key reason why the Lin family believes that my father is still alive."
The more she thought about it, the more likely it seemed, and hope shone in Lin Shushu's eyes.
Mo Ze, however, was not so optimistic. "Then why did that guard bring back such news?"
"Perhaps he himself was misled?"
That's possible.
Life and death are matters of great importance, and logically speaking, the guard wouldn't speak carelessly unless something really happened that caused him to misunderstand.
All of this was just speculation. Mo Ze didn't want Lin Shushu to take it too seriously. What if the news turned out to be true later? Wouldn't that be a waste of time?
"What about that guard from back then? Perhaps we can learn more from him."
Lin Shushu shook her head. As for whether the Lin family knew about it, she didn't know.
Mo Ze noticed the fleeting disappointment in her eyes, hugged her and comforted her, "Don't worry, Shu Shu, I'll have someone investigate right away, but it's been a while, so there might not be any news soon."
After saying that, his eyes lit up and he immediately added, "Perhaps we can start with the Lin family. They probably won't miss this clue in order to find out the truth."
Lin Shushu felt comforted by Mo Ze's concern, but she didn't want to put pressure on him. "It's alright. It was just a guess anyway. It would be good if we could find him, but there's nothing we can do if we can't."
Lin Shushu finally calmed down from her agitation. In truth, neither she nor the original owner of this body had any feelings for Lin Cheng'an. Her desire to seek the truth was merely due to the connection of their blood ties.
More importantly, she might be able to find out from Lin Cheng'an whether there is any special connection between herself and the original owner of this body.
Of course, all of this is predicated on Lin Chengan still being alive.
Meanwhile, Lin Yu also learned of what had happened to Lin Ping and the others. After hanging up the call, he muttered to himself, "Wasn't it him?"
Whether it was because his expectations were not met or because he couldn't shake off his hidden guilt, he momentarily ignored the young woman Lin Ping had mentioned.
It wasn't until several days later, when Lin Ping and the others were finally rescued and questioned by Ning Ya, that he realized he had overlooked something.
