Chapter 417 Dual Hosts
Chapter 417 Dual Hosts
At this moment, Raine quietly told Kaka about the box her father had left her.
Kaka went to Rein's house, gently moved the bed, and sure enough, found a rusty metal box with ancient runes engraved on it.
She dared not open it rashly, but could sense an ominous aura emanating from the object inside.
Back at the palace, Kaka took out the metal box: "Father, do you recognize this?"
The king's face changed drastically upon seeing the runes on the box: "This is a sealed box from an ancient forbidden sorcerer. Where did you obtain it?"
"It was left behind by Raine's father. Lord Artie seems to really want it."
The king pondered for a moment: “Take it, but don’t open it. Now, let’s go to the council hall. Remember, whatever the council says, remain calm.”
The atmosphere in the council hall was heavy; everyone knew why the king had summoned them.
When Kaka followed his father inside, dozens of nobles were already seated. In the center stood Prime Minister Arti, next to him was Derek, who was chained up, and Renn, who was pale but had a stubborn expression.
That's right, Derek ultimately failed to escape and was captured.
“Your Majesty,” Artie bowed deeply, “Derek has been apprehended; it is my fault for failing to raise my son properly.”
The king glanced at him helplessly: "Prime Minister, shouldn't we ask what's really going on?"
Artie turned to the council: "Honorable members, I have irrefutable evidence that this civilian is a member of the 'Black Card Society,' a terrorist organization dedicated to overthrowing the existing card order. He deliberately approached the princess with the aim of stealing the power of the Eye of All Things!"
The hall erupted in an uproar.
Artie held up a piece of parchment: "This is the Black Card Society's membership list, and it has his signature on it."
Kaka stood up: "Ridiculous! That's obviously a fake!"
“There’s more, Your Highness,” Artie sighed. “The guards found this in his residence.”
He displayed a jet-black dagger, "coated with a poison specifically designed to destroy card energy; it's clearly intended for you."
Ryan immediately retorted, "Liar! I've never seen that thing!"
Artie remained unmoved: "The evidence is conclusive. If you want to prove your innocence, then produce the evidence."
Derek then realized what was happening and immediately defended himself: "Yes, it was this civilian. I personally witnessed him conspiring with other members of the Black Card Society, and he attacked me when I tried to protect the princess."
Kaka trembled with anger as he listened to Derek's lies.
She immediately wanted to refute, but the king stopped her, as they indeed had no evidence to prove Ryan's innocence.
Kaka took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down.
Just then, she noticed a corner of a black card clipped to Derek's waist—exactly the same one he had used on the day of the attack.
“Your Excellency,” Kaka suddenly spoke, his voice clear and calm, “you said Rein is a member of the Black Card Society, so he must be proficient in forbidden black card techniques?”
Artie nodded confidently: "Of course, Your Highness."
“Interesting.” Kaka slowly walked towards Derek. “So, Derek, why do you have a black card on your waist? As far as I know, that’s an item exclusive to forbidden mages.”
Derek's face changed drastically, and he instinctively clutched his waist: "This, this is the spoils! Seized from members of the Black Card Society!"
“Really?” Kaka turned to the council. “Gentlemen, I personally witnessed Derek use a Black Teleport Card when he attacked me. If Rein is a member of the Black Card Society, why would Derek have their cards? Even more coincidentally, the Royal Card Vault was robbed of a Tier 3 Ice Blade Card on the day of the attack, and Derek happened to use that card to attack me.”
Parliament began to riot.
A flicker of panic crossed Derek's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure: "Your Highness's accusations are serious. Do you have any evidence?"
Kaka knew this was a crucial moment.
She closed her eyes, focused her mind to activate the energy of all the Myriad Eyes within her body, and then suddenly opened them—her eyes had turned completely golden, and the intense light illuminated the entire hall.
“This is my evidence!” Her voice echoed strangely. “The Eye of All Things has chosen me, and it has chosen Renn. Behold the truth!”
Golden light spread like waves, shattering illusions wherever it touched.
The "list" in Adi's hands had turned into a blank parchment, and the "Black Card Society dagger" was just an ordinary knife.
Even more astonishingly, faint black threads appeared on all the nobles present who were closely related to Derek, and the other end of the threads was connected to someone that Kaka never expected.
Ms. Eileen!
Parliament descended into chaos.
The king stood up: "Eileen, it's you! How dare you use forbidden control magic on the kingdom's nobles!"
Seeing the situation was turning against her, Eileen suddenly pulled a pure black card from her sleeve: "Since that's how it is, then don't blame me!"
"No!" Renn suddenly broke free and lunged at Eileen. The two fell to the ground together, and the black card flew out.
Kaka quickly picked up the card and was surprised to find that it resonated strongly with the metal box in her hand.
Just then, Derek drew his sword and stabbed Ryan in the back!
"Raine! Watch out!" Kaka screamed.
At the critical moment, a golden light shot out from Kaka's hand, forming a barrier that blocked the sword's edge.
At the same time, the metal box opened automatically, and a silver card flew out, colliding with the black card in mid-air and bursting out with a dazzling light.
When the light faded, Eileen and Derek were unconscious, and the black energy that had been wrapped around them was gradually dissipating.
The council chamber fell silent; everyone was shocked by this sudden turn of events.
Kaka ran to Renn and helped him sit up: "Are you alright?"
Raine coughed and nodded, then looked at his hands in surprise.
The golden lines beneath his skin were now clearly visible, mirroring the golden light in Kaka's eyes.
"This is?"
"The Eye of All Things' approval." The king stepped forward, looking at the two with a complex expression. "Ancient texts record that when the Eye of All Things chooses a dual host, a 'Golden Eye Resonance' occurs. This is a miracle that happens only once every thousand years."
Kaka helped Rein stand up, and their hands unconsciously clasped together.
The moment they made contact, the golden light intensified again, casting brilliant colors through the stained glass windows of the council hall, as if heralding the arrival of a new era.
“Father,” Kaka said softly, “I think I understand why the Eye of All Things chose us. Raine represents the potential and wisdom of the common people, while I represent the responsibility and legacy of the royal family. Only by combining the two can the power of the Eye of All Things be truly unleashed—to create a fairer world for all.”
Renn stared at Kaka in disbelief: "Is this real?"
Kaka smiled and squeezed his hand. "This is just the beginning. But first," she said, looking at the two men being led away by the guards, "we need to find out what they're planning and where these black cards came from."
