Chapter 62 Belloberg
Chapter 62 Belloberg
Jepard and the three Iron Guards immediately looked over.
At the center of the photo is a white, hazy planet.
Everyone was shocked after seeing the photos.
The iron guard said incredulously, "You're saying this white ball is...this place? Our living quarters? This is too..."
The soldiers were talking amongst themselves, but Jepard lowered his head and pondered.
Suddenly, he thought of something.
"It is said that long ago, strange visitors from outer space often came here... but after the cold wave, no one has come to Beloborg through the snow."
"Commander Najepad, what are these people?" the soldier asked, puzzled.
Jepard shook his head. "This is no longer our concern. If what they say is true, then only the High Warden can decide what to do."
"What we should do is bring them before the Great Protector."
"So, do we still have to attend some kind of ruling or trial?" March 7th continued to ask.
Jepard shook his head and said politely, "No need, esteemed visitors from outer space. First of all, thank you for helping the Iron Guard apprehend the suspect."
"Also, come with us. Beloberg is behind this snow curtain. The High Warden wants to see you."
Jepard turned and walked behind him.
"The Great Guardian?" March 7 asked in confusion.
“It should be the ruler of Belloborg,” Eve said.
Revealing your identity first can save some trouble, but it also means you won't have as much freedom of movement.
The three immediately followed at the feet of the Iron Guards.
After traversing wind, snow, and high mountains, the group stood atop a cliff.
“Everyone, we’ve arrived. Welcome to the City of Preservation, Beloborg.” Jepard pointed downwards.
Amidst the wind and snow, a ring-shaped city-state stood tall.
That was Belloberg.
"Wow! It's huge!" March 7th exclaimed excitedly.
It must be very warm in here!
“How spectacular…” Xing’s eyes were also filled with curiosity.
Such a big city must have trash cans!
"The City of Preservation...?" Eve murmured the name to herself.
Led by Jepard, the three successfully navigated through various checkpoints and finally entered Belleburg.
Upon entering the city, Jepard ordered his soldiers, "Take the suspects to prison and await trial."
"Yes, Commander Jepard."
The two Silvermane Iron Guards immediately took Sambo away, who was bound hand and foot.
On the side, March 7th exhaled and immediately realized that it wasn't so cold anymore.
"It's not so cold anymore!"
Jepard turned around and said, "Of course, because we are now in Beloberg, humanity's last stronghold."
"The last, fortress?" Xing asked, puzzled.
“Sigh, looks like I’ll have to explain it all over again.” Jepard shook his head and began to explain.
"Seven hundred years ago, a monster from outer space set the planet ablaze."
"The earth was scorched at that time, with burning molten metal and boiling smoke everywhere."
"Just when life and death were at stake, a cold wave suddenly descended."
"At first, people didn't realize anything and just thought it was a blizzard."
"But as the blizzard swept in without warning, the invading legion was buried by the blizzard, and only Beloberg survived."
“The steadfast builders established this city. Under the protection of the guardian star god Kripper, Beloborg, though battered by wind and snow, remains forever warm.”
As Jepard was speaking, March 7th whispered to Eve, "Um... he talks so strangely...?"
Eve responded softly, "That was different from his previous tone; he must have been quoting a passage from a classical text."
"Shall we recite the text?" Hoshino quietly chimed in.
“It should be… but why would he tell us all this?” March 7th continued to ask.
“Because you asked.” Jepard looked at March 7 with a speechless expression.
"Uh...this..." March 7th awkwardly spread his hands.
Eve covered her face in exasperation.
For a moment, the atmosphere became somewhat frozen.
Eve immediately changed the subject, "We just saw strange creatures outside the city. They came from the corrupted space [Rift], right?"
Jepard's expression immediately turned strange. "You guys actually know about this?"
“Yes, there are many threats beyond the cold wave, and the monster you saw is one of them.” Jepard nodded.
"The Silvermane Iron Guards have been fighting them, but the situation is not optimistic."
“After you have met with the High Guardian, I would like to ask for your opinion on this matter, as we lack information.”
"Mm." Eve nodded slightly.
The group continued onward.
"Where are we going now?" March 7th asked.
“Cripperburg, that’s the heart of Beloborg, the headquarters of the builders.”
At this moment, Eve asked, "May I ask, what is the relationship between the city builder and the guardian star god Kripper?"
Upon hearing this title, Eve had some doubts. Was this city builder an emissary of Cripper?
“Eve, you mean, the Guardian?” March 7th also thought of it.
“What relationship?” Jepard shook his head. “I don’t know.”
"All I know is that they are the saviors of mankind. Long before the cold wave arrived, the builders endured the incomprehension and ridicule of the world and insisted on building the city here. History has proven that their choice was correct."
“And Cripperburg was named after their guardian star god Cripper.”
"Under their guidance, humanity has resisted invasions from external enemies and blocked cold waves, and is now fighting against erosion from fissures."
"Alright, we've arrived."
"Cripperburg".
As he was talking, Jepard stopped in his tracks.
Before them stood an extremely magnificent fortress.
“This fortress is the residence of the High Warden,” Jepard explained.
"By the way, after hearing you talk about the Great Guardian so many times, I still don't know what the Great Guardian is?" March 7 finally asked the question she had been wanting to ask.
"The Great Guardians are the leaders of the Beloborg, elected and appointed by the Builders. They have protected the city for generations and provided shelter for the people."
