Chapter 88 I'll Take Care of Educating My Daughter
The man strode forward and stood beside Ning Yao, his deep, magnetic voice instantly exploding in Ning Yao's ears.
“This manor is absolutely safe. Miss Bella can stay here with peace of mind. If needed, you can send your own people over at any time. Whether you stay or leave is entirely up to you.”
"So, sir, what do you want from me?" Ning Yao didn't believe the man had helped her out of kindness. She gradually came to her senses, looked at the blue-eyed man beside her, and tried to catch some emotions from his expression.
The blue-eyed man smiled, and his smile looked especially beautiful against the backdrop of the lovely night.
"I just want you to be happy, I have no other intentions."
Ning Yao raised an eyebrow, clearly indicating that she didn't believe her nonsense.
The blue-eyed man shrugged, indicating his helplessness, then raised his hand in a gentlemanly gesture, inviting Ning Yao to head towards the castle.
To enter the castle, one must pass through a field of lavender.
No woman dislikes flowers, especially a fairytale-like lavender field.
The delicate and elegant fragrance of lavender filled Ning Yao's nostrils, cleansing her mind and body. The bad mood from encountering the robbers instantly vanished, replaced by a feeling of ease and joy.
She unconsciously tiptoed forward, taking small, quick steps, her eyebrows curving into clear, crescent-shaped eyes, her smile innocent and carefree.
The blue-eyed man slowed his pace and leisurely followed behind Ning Yao. Noticing that the little woman was in a good mood, the doting emotions in his eyes almost overflowed.
The walk from the flower field to the castle took almost forty minutes. If it were any other woman, walking like that in high heels, she would have been exhausted long ago, but Ning Yao didn't feel anything.
She has always been in good physical condition, not only because of the nourishing spring, but also because of her good habit of practicing martial arts.
"How should I address you, sir?" Ning Yao asked the blue-eyed man behind her as she stood at the castle gate.
“Robert Pattinson,” the man replied.
Even if he stood still and did nothing, his powerful aura was still impossible to suppress.
Ning Yao felt that Mr. Robert was acting strangely. With such a manor and such a handsome face, he was most likely a noble young master from Country Y. He would never lack suitors. How could he fall in love with a female passenger he met on a plane so easily?
Despite this, Ning Yao kept all these speculations to herself and showed no sign of it on her face.
The castle gates slowly opened, and a middle-aged man who looked like a butler stood by the door, respectfully greeting Robert.
The housekeeper had already made the arrangements, and Robert didn't bother Ning Yao. After saying goodnight to Ning Yao, he went to his room.
Ning Yao was initially worried that she would have to deal with Robert once she entered the castle, but now she can go straight back to her room to rest.
Without any hesitation, she followed the butler into the bedroom and locked the door behind her.
She still had her own phone. After checking the room and confirming that there were no listening devices or cameras, Ning Yao made a few calls with peace of mind.
After taking care of everything, Ning Yao took off her high heels, lay down on the bed, relaxed her limbs, and then fell asleep.
There was a knock on Robert's door.
He was sitting on the sofa looking at his laptop when he heard the noise and said in a deep voice, "Come in."
Several bodyguards in plain clothes entered the room and bowed respectfully to Robert.
Robert's eyes remained fixed on the laptop screen in his hands as he asked calmly, "Have you found out?"
"Yes, Miss Bella was kidnapped by the Clarisse family. It is said that Miss Bella offended Miss Clarisse at the jade gambling convention, and Miss Clarisse spread the word that she would cut off Miss Bella's leg as a warning."
Robert's long, slender fingers, which were resting on the keyboard, suddenly paused. He raised his eyes and coldly swept them over the bodyguard who had spoken, the muscles in his cheeks bulging slightly as he ground his molars.
“The Clarisse family…” Robert uttered these words in a deep voice, his eyes narrowing, a dangerous intent evident in his expression.
“They have become increasingly arrogant in the last two years. Since Duke Argyll is not good at educating his daughter, I might as well do it for him.”
The bodyguards looked at each other, none of them daring to speak, waiting for Robert to give the order.
One night passed.
Ning Yao slept comfortably until she naturally woke up. When she opened her eyes, she felt the warm sunlight streaming in through the gap in the curtains.
She loved the scent of lavender, so she left the window open at night, not closing it tightly. The sunlight mixed with the fragrance of flowers gave her an indescribable sense of joy.
Barefoot, Ning Yao stepped off the bed and slowly walked to the curtains. Suddenly, she pulled open the luxurious silk curtains, slightly raised the corners of her lips, and lazily opened her arms, enjoying the comfort of the sunlight bathing her body.
Dressed neatly, Ning Yao stepped out of the bedroom and saw the maids who had been guarding her all night.
Good morning, Miss Bella.
Ning Yao was startled by the two maids who appeared silently. She patted her chest inwardly and forced a smile.
"The restaurant is this way, Miss Bella, please," the maid said again.
Ning Yao followed the maid as she walked slowly through the magnificent castle corridor, unable to resist admiring the ancient paintings on the walls.
Relying on her special spatial abilities, Ning Yao could tell that the paintings hanging on the walls were all genuine works, each worth tens of millions or even beyond estimate. Some of them were even national treasure-level original paintings that could only be seen in museums.
Ning Yao became increasingly suspicious of Robert's background. Could he be a descendant of a duke from Country Y?
Otherwise, who else could have such terrifying financial resources? Those things, even with money, you might not be able to buy them; you also need to have a certain amount of power and connections with the Y country government.
Inside the restaurant, Robert was already waiting. When Ning Yao appeared, he showed a gentle smile.
"Miss Bella, please have a seat." He stood up and pulled out a chair for Ning Yao, being a very gentlemanly man.
Ning Yao thanked them and sat down, staring at the dazzling array of Western-style aristocratic dishes on the rectangular dining table, speechless.
It's just breakfast for two, yet Mr. Robert insists on having so many different dishes; he certainly has an extravagant lifestyle.
Ning Yao picked up her knife and fork, nodded slightly in acknowledgment, and began to eat slowly and deliberately.
By chance, Ning Yao caught a glimpse of Robert's elegant and refined manner of eating, and sighed inwardly.
Robert is such a beautiful man to eat; he turns eating into a performance art.
Calmly withdrawing her gaze, Ning Yao decided it was best to stay away from this mysterious man, Robert, to avoid causing trouble in Y country and bringing trouble upon herself.
At that moment, the television screen in the restaurant suddenly lit up and began broadcasting a news report.
The female news anchor is narrating the events in fluent English.
Ning Yao's hand holding the fork paused silently, her attention instantly drawn to the scene on the television screen.
The Duke of Argyll's daughter, Clauris, was tragically assassinated in her home in the early hours of the morning. One of her legs was severed. The scene was extremely gruesome, and although it was blurred with mosaics during the broadcast, the bright red mark was still faintly visible...
