Chapter 93 Rippling Waters, Ready to Erupt
Chapter 93 Rippling Waters, Ready to Erupt
"Thank you, can you let go of me now?" Ning Yao stared at Robert, a hint of anger flashing in her clear eyes.
"Thank you is not enough; I need a gift from Miss Bella."
Ning Yao saw the shadow of a certain man in Robert again, especially his cunning businessman nature, which was almost identical.
She had always suspected Robert's identity, but after several verifications, she still couldn't find a single clue.
Ning Yao stopped paddling, let go of the water, and allowed herself to be submerged in the pool.
Just before she fell into the water, she clearly glimpsed a hint of anxiety flashing in Robert's deep blue eyes.
Robert dived underwater and gently lifted Ning Yao's head to the surface, allowing her to breathe properly.
"Since you didn't teach me, I'm afraid I won't be able to receive this thank-you gift." Ning Yao blinked. She had clearly overcome her fear of water and even found swimming to be a very enjoyable activity.
Robert unconsciously tightened his grip on Ning Yao's arm and scolded in a stern voice, "Nonsense!"
“Mr. Robert clearly has everything he needs, yet he insists on taking things from someone as insignificant as me. That’s a bit unfair.” Ning Yao raised her signature foxy smile, revealing a few white canine teeth.
Robert held the woman's slender waist in his hand, narrowed his eyes, stepped forward, and kissed Ning Yao's lips.
Ning Yao struggled several times, but couldn't shake Robert at all. She opened her mouth to curse, but gave him the chance, deepening the kiss. Their lips and tongues intertwined, and they tasted the sweetness that belonged only to each other.
The two stayed in the water for a long time, their skin touching, and an ambiguous spark was about to ignite.
Ning Yao could even sense subtle changes in Robert's body, which made her feel somewhat embarrassed and ashamed.
Ning Yao didn't know how long the kiss lasted, but she felt like all the air in her lungs was about to be used up.
Robert noticed and slowly released her. The free air rushed into Ning Yao's throat. She greedily inhaled several large breaths of air, her chest heaving violently, and her cheeks flushed with an ambiguous blush.
"To learn to swim well, you need good lung capacity," Robert said righteously, as if his forceful kiss was just to train Ning Yao's lung capacity and help her better master swimming skills.
"It seems Mr. Robert has a wealth of teaching experience," Ning Yao said through gritted teeth, her tone sarcastic.
“Miss Bella is mistaken. You are my only student.”
“My time is precious, and not everyone is worth my personal instruction.”
Compared to Ning Yao's sarcastic tone, Robert's tone and attitude were exceptionally sincere, almost as if he were comforting his jealous girlfriend.
Ning Yao didn't want to argue with him anymore, so she wrapped herself in a large white towel and walked out of the pool, heading towards her room.
She just took a shower, but it was all for nothing. She'll have to shower again and change into clean clothes.
The maids watched as Ning Yao returned to her room in a disheveled and soaking wet state, her faces full of annoyance and anger, but none of them said a word.
The butler, however, was perceptive and instructed the maid to go to the kitchen and have the chefs postpone dinner so that the two masters could enjoy a fresh and hot Chinese meal.
The following day, in the princess's bedroom on the second floor of the ancient Roman castle.
After Ning Yao got up, she changed into the dress she had bought at the luxury store, and Robert thoughtfully arranged for several makeup artists to help her.
The makeup artists were all experienced, and Ning Yao's skin mask had a very good base, so she didn't need much embellishment at all.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Ning Yao raised her hand and touched the light orange gemstone brooch that Robert had chosen for her. She was very satisfied. She was determined not to disappoint Bruce today.
When it was time to leave the manor, Ning Yao was told by the butler that Robert had urgent business to attend to and could not go to the banquet with her.
Ning Yao pursed her lips, not taking it to heart, and got into the driver's car, heading to the banquet venue where Bruce was hosting his party.
The banquet was held at a luxurious and high-end royal hotel in Country Y.
After getting out of the car, Bruce arranged for someone to help Ning Yao with her skirt and guide her.
Ning Yao observed the people attending the banquet discreetly throughout the journey. Most of them were members of royal families and noble families, but there were also members of underground criminal organizations. It was quite a large gathering.
Bruce was waiting inside. When he saw Ning Yao arrive, he smiled warmly and slowly went up to greet her.
"Miss Bella looks beautiful today," Bruce said, sparing no praise.
Ning Yao gave a polite reply, and Bruce said that he had other guests to entertain, so he left after saying a few more words.
Bruce was a womanizer and had had relationships with many women present. As soon as Ning Yao arrived, Bruce warmly welcomed her, which displeased his ex-girlfriends. A few of them were arrogant and stepped forward to Ning Yao, looking her up and down with disdain.
While ostensibly an entertainment party, it's actually a stage for social interaction and networking within high society.
Most women who come to such occasions dress up nicely. The women who appeared in front of Ning Yao were all dressed in luxury haute couture brands, and their necklaces and jewelry were dazzling and expensive.
One of them was a royal noblewoman named Shanna, who wore a beautiful emerald necklace and looked as proud as a peacock princess.
Anyone with a little knowledge of gemstones knows that this emerald is actually the highest grade of jadeite, the imperial green of the glass type.
A few days ago, Ning Yao sold a piece of imperial green jade to Chairman Xu for 1.5 billion.
If unprocessed jadeite can sell for such a price, what about processed finished products?
The women expressed their envy towards Shanna, flattering her in fluent English.
"Isn't this a necklace made of emeralds and jade? It seems to have a particularly beautiful name, called the Green Sea of Love."
"The price was driven up to 3 billion at the previous auction, and the gem collector who owns the Green Sea of Love refused to sell it. It turns out that the gem is with Miss Shanna. Miss Shanna is not short of money, no wonder no one could buy it."
Shanna was extremely pleased, her fiery red lips slightly curved, her chin raised high, letting them admire her necklace.
While enjoying the adulation of others, she glanced at Ning Yao's orange gemstone brooch, the material of which was unknown, and smiled disdainfully.
“It would be difficult to find a second gemstone like this, so of course I won’t sell it.”
"Money is the most vulgar and despicable thing. Imperial green glass-type jadeite is not something that can be found casually. Its collection value is extremely high. To exchange such a precious thing for money, ha, what a degrading behavior."
"I heard that Miss Bella just sold a piece of imperial green jadeite a couple of days ago, for about 1.5 billion, right?" Someone deliberately mentioned Ning Yao, their words full of disdain.
