Chapter 53 Trap, Run!
Chapter 53 Trap, Run!
Chen Jiangqiao walked over to Zheng Lu and asked in a low voice, "What is the witch's solo test?"
Zheng Lu shook her head awkwardly: "I don't know, this isn't the script I wrote."
Chen Jiangqiao rolled his eyes inwardly. Of course he knew it was a plot set by the system: "Didn't you find any clues in the script the system gave you?"
"The system gave me the script for my first game," Zheng Lu replied with a hint of helplessness.
"Where did the later script come from?" Chen Jiangqiao asked in surprise. He hadn't expected the screenwriter character Zheng Lu to be so useless.
Zheng Lu nodded towards Song He, who was standing next to Wu Hu.
"Him?" Chen Jiangqiao stared blankly at Song He's retreating figure for a moment, then sensed something amiss and turned to look at the other remaining NPC on the field—Xiao Sheng. These two NPCs were the least noticeable on the field, so why were they still alive? Did they possess some kind of hidden information?
After thinking it over carefully, Chen Jiangqiao realized that he had been so focused on admiring the beauties in this instance that he hadn't been collecting much information from the NPCs. With a thought, he walked over to Xiao Sheng in the corner and, under the pretext of smoking, called him to the restaurant.
"Thanks, buddy." Xiao Sheng skillfully blew a smoke ring.
Chen Jiangqiao couldn't think of anything to ask for a moment, so he chatted idly about this and that until he asked about the preparation process of the variety show, and that's when he discovered the problem.
Xiao Sheng: "I've never been to F country in my life, how would I know such a wonderful place? Besides, he's an earl. Do you know what an earl means? Do you think I have that much power?"
"Who arranged that?" Chen Jiangqiao's face lit up with joy. Story-driven dungeons all have corresponding background settings, and the system will simulate reality to establish meticulous character logic relationships. Clues to passing the dungeon are often hidden in these settings.
“Producer Song, of course! He's an investor, he has those connections!” Xiao Sheng said, then looked puzzled. “Why are you curious about this too?”
Chen Jiangqiao was surprised: "Others have asked this?"
Xiao Sheng shrugged: "Mo Yingdi's assistant asked me the same question yesterday."
"Jiang Lin?" Chen Jiangqiao was so angry he laughed when he realized what was happening.
In the final round of the variety show, instead of using a lottery system to determine the order of appearance, the guests were arranged directly according to their status and rank: Liang Yuan, Ji Xingyi, Zhao Ruoxi, and Mo Xizheng.
Bernard approached the first guest, Liang Yuan, and bowed in a gesture of invitation.
As Liang Yuan stood up, Mo Xizheng's heart tightened, and she instinctively grabbed Liang Yuan's hand.
Liang Yuan remained silent, simply watching quietly, his calm gaze seemingly concealing emotions that Mo Xizheng could not decipher.
"Brother Mo," Zhao Ruoxi interrupted the two.
Mo Xizheng immediately let go. He didn't know why, but he suddenly had a feeling of unease.
Watching Liang Yuan follow Bernard upstairs, Mo Xizheng unconsciously frowned: "Ruoxi, do you know what they're going to do?"
Zhao Ruoxi pouted: "I heard it's to see Earl Green Xia Li, but I don't know the specifics."
In order to capture the guests' genuine reactions, the final round was conducted with confidentiality measures in place.
"The Earl?" Mo Xizheng nodded. Today was the third day since he arrived at the castle, and it was indeed time to meet the owner of the castle.
Just then, a figure appeared upstairs. Xu Enxi clutched her chest and shouted downstairs, "Run!"
But the woman's voice was too weak for anyone to hear clearly.
"Enxi!" Mo Xizheng stood up and shouted to Xu Enxi. When Xu Enxi saw Mo Xizheng, she ran downstairs, but she slipped and tumbled down the stairs.
Everyone was startled and crowded around.
"Enxi!" Mo Xizheng quickly hugged Xu Enxi into his arms. In just one day, the woman had become emaciated.
Xu Enxi tried to speak, but black blood flowed from her mouth and nose first.
"Dr. Yang!"
Yang Hua arrived immediately, but looked troubled when she saw Xu Enxi's symptoms. Her role was that of a team doctor, and the system had provided her with the corresponding medical knowledge, but she still couldn't do anything about the situation.
Falling down the stairs should have been an external injury, but the blood flowing from Xu Enxi's mouth and nose was as black as ink, unlike human blood. Yang Hua didn't know what to do.
"Dr. Yang, please save her!" Mo Xizheng was sweating profusely with anxiety.
Xu Enxi opened her mouth, and Mo Xizheng quickly leaned in and whispered, "Enxi, what do you want to say?"
Xu Enxi showed an extremely painful expression and could only let out a silent scream.
Ji Xingyi: "Give her adrenaline."
"Are you crazy?!" Yang Hua exclaimed in disbelief. He didn't understand any of the symptoms and just injected adrenaline? What if he killed someone?
"Give him adrenaline!" Ji Xingyi's eyes were filled with murderous intent. The player didn't need to save an NPC's life; he only needed to get useful information out of Xu Enxi.
Yang Hua was startled by Ji Xingyi's gaze, truly experiencing the demon Ding Xuehui had described. Under pressure, he obediently injected Xu Enxi with adrenaline.
Whether it was a lucky accident or a final burst of energy before death, some color returned to the woman's deathly pale face.
"Trap...run away...witch...fake...run away..."
However, after uttering these few fragmented words, Xu Enxi fainted again.
Everyone present was completely bewildered when Mo Xizheng suddenly realized, "Liang Yuan!"
"Ruoxi, take good care of Enxi!" Mo Xizheng said and rushed upstairs, followed closely by Ji Xingyi. Zheng Lu hesitated for a moment before following her up as well.
When Chen Jiangqiao returned after finishing his cigarette, he saw the chaotic scene. He wanted to chase after them, but then he noticed that Song He had secretly slipped away through another passage. After hesitating for a moment, he decided to go after Song He.
"Liang Yuan!"
Mo Xizheng ran and shouted upstairs, but the castle was eerily quiet, and no sound answered him. Just like the past four years, he had tried every method but still couldn't find Liang Yuan.
Mo Xizheng became increasingly anxious as he thought about it; he simply could not bear the pain of losing Liang Yuan again.
Ji Xingyi, who was following closely behind Mo Xizheng, noticed something unusual: the angel in the corridor was slowly closing its eyes towards them.
