Chapter 361: Anxiety and helplessness.

On the eve of the mission, Su Ming once again struggled to sleep. He paced back and forth in his small room, mulling over the various possibilities he was about to face. Suddenly, he heard Ali gently push the door open, her face solemn.

"Su Ming, I have something to say to you." Ali walked up to him with a hint of uneasiness in her eyes.

"What's the matter?" Su Ming frowned, feeling vaguely uneasy.

"This mission is very dangerous. I hope you can take good care of yourself." Ali's voice was low, and she seemed to be trying hard to suppress her inner emotions.

"I will, Ali." Su Ming smiled slightly, trying to ease her worries. "I will definitely come back and will never let you down."

Tears glistened in Ali's eyes, and Su Ming felt a pang of pain in his heart. He knew that their feelings had grown deeper in these turbulent times, but such feelings also made them more vulnerable.

"If I can't come back, you must continue to live." Su Ming suddenly said, his heart full of uneasiness.

"Don't say that!" Ali's voice was a little anxious. "We will definitely get through this difficult time together!"

"I just want you to know that no matter what happens, I hope you can live well." Su Ming's eyes became firm and he secretly made a promise in his heart.

In this small house, the two people's hearts became closer and closer, as if they were each other's only support in the storm of war.

The next day, Su Ming embarked on a new mission. He donned his black combat uniform, feeling a surge of nervousness. He silently repeated Ali's words, reminding himself to survive no matter what.

Sneaking into the enemy base was a thrilling adventure. Su Ming moved through the shadows like a ghost, constantly recalling his promise to Ali. Now, he not only had to face the enemy's vigilance but also overcome his inner fear.

During his infiltration, he carefully avoided patrolling soldiers, memorizing every detail. He knew that any small mistake could lead to total failure. In a closed office, Su Ming finally found his target.

"This is it!" he thought to himself, and quickly began searching for the file. Just then, a sudden commotion erupted outside, and Su Ming's heart tightened, realizing that something might be wrong.

"Hurry!" He quickly put away the documents and rushed to the window. The moment he opened the window, he heard hurried footsteps outside the door, and a wave of panic suddenly surged in Su Ming's heart.

"How could this happen?" he thought to himself. Without time to think about it, he quickly climbed out of the window and tried to escape from the back.

As he fled, he heard the enemy's cries from behind. Su Ming's heartbeat raced like thunder, and he hurried his pace. The sounds of pursuit grew closer, as if countless hands were trying to drag him back into the endless darkness.

"I can't be caught!" Su Ming thought to himself, his eyes gleaming with determination. At this moment, he had only one thought in his mind, and that was Ali.

During his escape, Su Ming kept searching for a place to hide, and finally found temporary shelter in an abandoned warehouse. Panting, he tried to calm down, but couldn't help but think of Ali's smile.

"I must come back." He swore silently in his heart, with a determined light flashing in his eyes.

After a period of quiet waiting, Su Ming finally heard the sounds of pursuit fading away. He cautiously walked out of the warehouse, but a sense of unease still lingered. He knew he had to return to the safe house immediately and report the progress of the mission to Ali.

As Su Ming ran, his heart was filled with worry for Ali. The more he missed her, the more lonely and helpless he felt. Finally, when he returned to the safe house, he saw Ali anxiously wandering around, and a warm feeling welled up in his heart.

"You're back!" Ali came forward in surprise, with a worried glint in her eyes.

"I succeeded!" Su Ming showed a tired but determined smile. "Although I encountered some troubles, I got the information."

"That's good!" Ali breathed a sigh of relief, her eyes filled with deep relief. However, her brows were still furrowed, clearly still worried about Su Ming's safety.

"You know what?" Ali said softly, with a hint of tenderness in her eyes, "I've been worried about you."

"I'm worried about you, too." Su Ming gently held her hand, his heart filled with warmth. They snuggled together in this small room, as if they had found the only peace in this turmoil.

"We will get through this together," Su Ming said softly, secretly hoping for better days ahead.

At this moment, a piercing alarm suddenly blared from outside the window, and Su Ming's heart tightened. Their safe house had been discovered, and the enemy had likely found it.

The sirens were shrill and urgent, as if reminding Su Ming and Ali that their safety was in jeopardy. Su Ming's heart was tense, and his eyes showed an uneasy look.

"Quick, pack your things!" Su Ming said, looking around quickly. They didn't have much time, so they had to prepare immediately.

"I know!" Ali quickly walked to the table, frantically packing up important documents and items, but her heart was still restless. Her hands were shaking, and her heart was filled with fear and anxiety. "Where should we go?"

"Let's go to the basement first, it's more hidden there." Su Ming looked back out the window and realized that the enemy was approaching, and he became even more anxious.

Ali nodded, quickly stuffed her belongings into her backpack, and then followed Su Ming towards the basement entrance. Both of them knew that the situation was more dangerous than ever before, and the seconds ticked by, as if urging them on.

"We need to stay calm," Su Ming whispered, trying to comfort Ali. He took a deep breath and prayed silently in his heart, hoping to get through this safely.

"I know." Ali's voice trembled, and it was clear that she was also filled with anxiety. She was silently thinking about what fate she would face if she was caught by the enemy, and she didn't even dare to think about it.

They arrived at the basement. Su Ming quickly closed the door and looked around to confirm that there were no traces of the enemy. The surroundings were dark and damp, and the air was filled with a musty smell that made people feel depressed.

"We can wait here for a while." Su Ming's voice was low, and he thought to himself that he must come up with a safe evacuation plan.

"What if they find this place?" Ali's eyes flashed with fear and her heart was filled with anxiety.

"We need to stay as quiet as possible and wait until they leave before we figure out a solution." Su Ming held Ali's hand, trying to convey some strength. He could sense her nervousness, and his heart ached.

"I'm scared..." Ali's voice trembled slightly, and her eyes showed anxiety and helplessness.
