Spy Wars: Strong Agents Who Are Ruthless and Talk Little

Chapter 542 Black Coat

Chapter 542 Black Coat

He suddenly felt trapped, as if he had walked into some inescapable trap. This oppressive feeling made it almost impossible for him to breathe.

"Enough!" Su Ming suddenly stopped and turned to face the man, his eyes becoming fierce. "Who are you?"

Su Ming stood in the dark alley. The man before him remained erect, seemingly oblivious to his questioning. His gaze was calm and impassive, as if he had anticipated this moment. Su Ming's heartbeat intensified, but he didn't retreat. Though his heart was in turmoil, his fear surging like a tidal wave, he knew he couldn't waver, couldn't show even a hint of weakness.

"What do you want to do?" Su Ming's voice was low and tense, and one could almost hear the repression and anger in it. The man before him made him feel deeply dangerous, like a venomous snake lurking in the darkness, ready to launch a fatal attack at any time.

The man smiled faintly, his face devoid of any nervousness, appearing surprisingly calm. He gently shook his head. "Are you confused? You feel like everything's out of control, and you want help, trying to sort out all the clues you have, right?" His words were steady and slow, each word hammering at Su Ming's brain, choking him.

Su Ming clenched his fists, the emotions surging within him making it difficult for him to suppress them. "How could he know so clearly?" His heart was in turmoil, as if all the mysteries had suddenly been solved. "He knows what I'm thinking. Could it be that he...?"

The man's gaze remained fixed on Su Ming, a complex mix of emotions visible in his eyes. It was as if some deep, tacit understanding flowed between them, yet Su Ming was completely oblivious to the meaning behind it. Su Ming gritted his teeth, forcing himself to calm down. "I can't let him lead me around," he silently reminded himself.

"Who are you?" Su Ming finally asked, his voice trembling a little, but he remained determined, staring at the man, not allowing himself to show any fear.

The man chuckled, seemingly unwilling to directly answer Su Ming's question. "Do you know who I am?" he asked, his tone revealing an undeniable coldness.

Su Ming didn't answer, his mind constantly pondering his next move. Suddenly, an idea struck him. He could ask his colleagues for help. After all, there were some things he couldn't handle alone. If there was real danger, it would be best to join forces and survey the surroundings before making a decision.

"I know you want to find someone to help, Su Ming." The man continued in a calm tone, "Do you think I don't know what you are thinking?" He seemed to see through Su Ming's every thought. The smile on his face was still gentle, but it made people feel chilling.

"That's enough!" Su Ming finally couldn't help himself, his voice becoming sharp. "Just tell me what you want to do."

The man stopped laughing and just stared at him silently. After a moment, he slowly spoke, "You don't need to know who I am, nor do you need to know what I want to do." He turned around, and his back gradually disappeared into the night. Only Su Ming was left standing there, feeling lost.

"Who is it?" Su Ming's heartbeat gradually returned to a steady state, but the confusion and uneasiness still lingered. He knew he was no longer the ordinary person who could handle everything on his own. He had to seek help; only then could he understand the truth behind all this.

Back in his own quarters, Su Ming couldn't concentrate for a moment, his mind filled with the man's words. Every word felt like a test of his inner self, each one filled with utter unease. Though he tried to remain calm, his inner panic grew worse, as if an invisible hand were constantly squeezing him, choking him.

He thought of Li Shan, his longtime colleague and friend. Li Shan was smart, decisive, and always available to help at crucial moments. Su Ming knew he needed her help right now.

He took out his cell phone and quickly dialed Li Shan's number. After a few rings, the call finally connected.

"Hello, Li Shan, it's me, Su Ming." Although Su Ming's voice was subdued, it still carried a hint of urgency. "Do you have time now? I need your help."

Li Shan's voice on the other end of the phone was clear, with a hint of confusion: "What's wrong? What happened? You don't sound right."

Su Ming took a deep breath and tried to calm his voice. "I'm outside now, and someone might be following me. I need you to come over and help me survey the surroundings and see if there's anything unusual."

There was silence on the other end of the line for a moment, as if pondering Su Ming's words. "Are you in trouble? Where are you now? I'll be right there."

"It's near an alley on the edge of the city." Su Ming answered briefly.

"Okay, I'll be right there." Li Shan's tone suddenly became firm. "Stay calm. Remember, don't act rashly."

After hanging up the phone, Su Ming felt a little relieved, but the unease still lingered. He looked around, feeling a wave of nervousness wash over him again. He couldn't trust anyone easily, especially when he knew he was caught in an extremely complicated situation.

Ten minutes later, Li Shan arrived in a hurry, wearing a black coat. Her face was expressionless, appearing calm and composed. She walked over to Su Ming, glanced around, and then said, "You said someone was following you?"

Su Ming nodded and whispered, "Yes, he kept his distance and didn't approach me directly, but I have a feeling that he was deliberately following me for unknown reasons."

Li Shan was silent for a moment, as if analyzing the situation: "What kind of person is he? Did he do anything special?"

Su Ming recalled the man's appearance. Although he wasn't tall, he gave off an oppressive aura that couldn't be ignored. "He was wearing a black windbreaker and his movements were very calm. He made almost no obvious movements and always kept a certain distance. It was as if he was observing me, but he didn't take any direct action."

Li Shan's eyes grew deep, and she nodded slowly: "I understand. Let's go check nearby to see if there are any other suspicious people or vehicles."

She led Su Ming toward a nearby street, her eyes scanning the surroundings with alertness and swiftness. Her steps were steady, as if she were ready to respond to any possible emergency. Su Ming followed closely behind her, his heart pounding with tension, making him almost breathless.
